Session 8 – Cabin Chippewa

This week has been awesome!

On Monday evening, we had a huge whipped cream fight, with whipped cream colored to represent each of the teams in Color Wars (red, blue and green).

On Tuesday, we tie-dyed as a cabin, and made some lanyards. Amelia, Camron, Grace, Katelyn, and Megan went on a trail ride, and they loved it! Keegan and Addy enjoyed swimming and boating. Delaney tried her hand on a Funyak, which, she learned, are as fun as they sound! Anna made clay sculptures.

All in all, it has been a great week and we cannot wait for out cookout tonight!

Session 8 – Shawnee Cabin

It’s been a busy week and fun first half of the week at Camp Willson. The girls of Shawnee have been busy helping to support the Green Team. Emma P., Emma R., and Kaitlin worked hard to paint a “Go Green” sign for the Dining Hall. Lola has been working on her swimming and is hoping to get her red swim band, so she can go on the Water Trampoline. Norah and Emma G. have been enjoying horse lessons and the Water Trampoline.

Lexi has been busy in the Arts and Crafts room, making friendship bracelets and necklaces for the rest of the cabin. Hailey has also spent time in the Art room, working on clay sculptures. Kyla and Amiah went on a trail ride yesterday, and then spent a lot of their time in the Arts and Crafts room.

We are excited for the cookout tonight, where we plan on making pizza pies and S’mores.

Session 8 – Cabin 11

As the  midweek point approaches, there is a great buzz within the group! Color Wars are in full motion with all 3 teams separated by a matter of only 50 points! The boys have been super busy with activities. Ryan, Brad, Serik, and Ben all managed to reach the top of the climbing wall and ring the victory bell! Tuesday afternoon saw teh team head into the lake in kayaks for some much needed cooling off. As evening approached, everyone was very excited for Teen Night! Alex, Tylor, and Trinity were all more than willing to cover themselves in pudding, shaving cream, and cheese puffs in order to win points for the blue team. On a cool Wednesday morning, the boys headed to the pamper pole and giant swing, enabling them to take in the views as they soared through the air. The whole of TEENation are eagerly awaiting their trip to Dairy Queen tonight… let’s just hope the sugar rush wears out before lights out tonight!

Session 8 – Cabin 2

Dear Family and Friends of Cabin 2,

The Blue Ladies Group have been busy having lots of fun! Monday night we celebrated our theme of Color Wars… by having a color fight! Once everyone was completely covered, we all had an evening swim to get the first layers of paint off. After our swim, we had showers, and had an amazing cabin chat, about the most caring things the girls have done, and the most caring things other people have done for them. With caring thoughts on our mind, we bed down for the night. Before we knew it, it was time to rise and shine for a new day, with a great breakfast of biscuits and gravy. After our Morning Watch about honesty, we divided into our activity areas. Semauri, Alexis, Deja, and Sanaa had crazy wet fun in their canoes, getting ready for their canoe race on Thursday. Courtney also had wet fun on the water trampoline, where she got to blob people. Whitney had a blast on her horse, Cody, where she learned about saddling and grooming. Next, everyone in the cabin went to the sports field to learn about target sports and play some GaGa! During their third activity, the girls all had a blast reaching for the start climbing our climbing wall, learning about climbing techniques, and safety in climbing. Open swim was next, followed by our cabin activity of archery! Last night we had an activities party, where all the campers got to pick their camp activity for the evening.. most of our girls picked arts and crafts or GaGa! We had a flashlight dance party in the cabin before winding down for the night. We had a good night’s sleep leading us straight into today!

Thanks, Karissa and Alex

Session 8 – Cabin 1

It’s a cold day at Camp, but Cabin 1 is still having an awesome time! Today, our Wranglers Natalie and Destiny, got to trot with Josie. They said they had to use a crop because Josie was being stubborn, but it was still lots of fun! The girls in Create and Design Camp, Emily, Jordan, Bridget, Anzu, and Maddie, got to make some cool art today. They tie-dyed their shirts and got to make posters for Garage Band’s camp band, Potato Cake. They’re really excited to learn how to make friendship bracelets later today, and go to open swim!

Miami – Minicamp Session 8

Miami cabin has had a full first day of Camp. The boys bared the cold for swim checks on Sunday evening. Then they headed to Opening Campfire for some skits and songs.

On Monday, Jude and Henry went down to the Waterfront to learn about boating. Eli and Carter got to learn about and look at the animals in the Critter Room. Adam had a lot of fun at Painting and Drawing. Alex, Drew, Gavin and Matt went down to the Sports Field to play Gaga.

As a cabin, the boys shot some archery, played some more Gaga, and did some tie-dye.

They are excited for another BIG day today, before heading home tomorrow.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Green’s gonna win, there’s no doubt about it!

Delaware – Minicamp, Session 8

Delaware has had an awesome couple of days at Camp Willson!

Abby, Kaitlyn and Naveah are such sweet girls and are getting along so well. They even chose their activities together. So far we have tie-dyed, swum in the lake, shot archery, and played Gaga.

While they are only here for Mini Camp, the girls have settled in and are already feeling at home at Camp. I can’t believe we only have one full day left!

Session 8 – Cabin 11

The week started with a colorful bang, as the Color Wars began. TEENation are in the blue team, and they wasted no time getting into the team spirit! After dinner, Alex, Ben Brad, Ryan, Serik, Trinity and Tylor passed their swim checks. Later in the week they will be going on the water trampoline and the kayaks.

In the evening, the guys took part in the Opening Campfire, making sure to cheer on their blue team mates.

It was a warm and bright Monday morning, when the cabin met with the TEENation girls to take part in team building activities. As the guys worked together solving problems it was clear there is a great team spirit within the group that will continue throughout the week.

Session 8 – Cabin 8

We’re already having an awesome week here in Garage Band! It’s great to see all of the different influences the guys draw from. I had them start a list of songs they’re interested in performing and loved the fact that we all had similar tastes. This morning, we started working on “Sunshine of Your Love” by Cream, which was one of Tyler’s choices. We also worked on “Can’t Stop” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, per Devon. We’re going to start one of Cobi’s, “No Waves” by Fidler, later this afternoon.

Session 8 – Wyandot

Hello from cabin Wyandot! We are having a great time here at Camp Willson. Last night at the activities party Leah and Trisha had a great time choosing their activities for the week. Cherece and Talea absolutely loved watching the skits and songs at campfire. This morning Cam, Kiera, and Becca went to Create and Design camp and made get-to-know-you collages. They are super excited to do art all week! Maggie, Asya, Jaelyn, and Jasmyne all went to Wranglers this morning and met their horses! They learned to groom and are excited to ride all week! We will check in again on Wednesday!
