WELCOME BACK STUDENTS!!!!
It was a long winter at Camp Willson, but luckily for us, the students of Hardin Northern saved us from another week of staring at each other and computer work! Spring Season OE is finally here!!!!
Yes, needless to say, we were very happy to see the smiling faces of Hardin Northern students as they bounded off the buses Tuesday morning. Not only did their arrive mean that spring season is here, but they also brought the spring weather as well! We had a wonderful four days jam-packed with loads of classes, evening programs and tons of fun!
With so much going on in four days, we will just hit the highlights – which for most, we would have to say were the trail ride, climbing wall (and of course all the other classes…) evening programs and of course REC time! All that we heard were the mumbles of the game that we couldn’t talk about…but here is a sneak peek…we think the students had a pretty good time with it!

The sun also helped us out and allowed the cookout lunch to actually be outside! Everyone enjoyed cooking their hotdogs over the fire and sitting around our council fire ring talking with friends. We were also able to have our world-famous Camp Willson campfire outside (amidst the sprinkles and stars) and laughed and sang and laughed some more.
With 13 classes, six evening programs, 10 meals, three recreation times, one cookout and tons of memories along the way, to say things were busy is an understatement! Everyone at Willson had a great time and thank the students parents and teachers of Hardin Northern for getting the spring season off to a wonderful start! We hope to see you all back soon.
Oh and we leave you with the creative writings from one of the classes the students took – Shake, Rattle and Write – ENJOY!!
Hardin Northern Shake Rattle and Write How Spiders Came to Be One day when Zeus was playing a trick on Hades, Hades caught him. He was furious with his brother. He sent a giant spider up to his room on Mount Olympus. Zeus (not afraid) struck the spider with a lighting bolt. The spider burst into millions of spiders sending them down to Earth. And that’s how we have spiders. Group 1 There were three friends. Their names were Nummy, Sugar and Ranger. They were riding on a trial, and they came across a frog named Bob. They are going to the Mall to pick out a blue dress for prom. They are meeting Joe, John and Josh and showing up with Bob because he needs a ride. They show up and the prom was closed so now they go to Rangers house and have their own prom party. And they were friends for ever and ever. Group 2 The Snake and the Sloth One day there was a sloth and a snake. The sloth got its arm stuck in a mouse trap. It was the snake and called out for help. The snake refused. The sloth promised to help him in the future if he helps him. The still refused. The sloth got help from someone else and decided to play a nasty trick on the snake to teach him a lesson. He bought a plastic mouse and smothered it in peanut butter and fur. Sloth put it in the snake’s house. The snake swallowed it and it got stuck in its throat. The snake was gesturing for help but the sloth refused to help. So the snake promised to be helpful and kind to everyone. And he kept that promise! The end. Group 2 Tom is chasing Jerry because Jerry took some of Tom’s Meow Mix and Jerry runs through his mouse-hole and Tome is not able to fit through the hole. So now every time a cat sees a mouse it assumes it has its cat food. And that’s why cats chase mice. Group 3 Once upon a time there was a nice Smurf and a mean Smurf. The nice Smurf went to the mean Smurfs house, and asked him to go to the pool. When they got there it started to rain and the mean Smurf made a smoke bomb that made the Smurfs die and the sky turned blue (it was white before) and that is why the sky is blue. Group 3 Why Dragon went extinct One time long ago when Dragons roamed the Earth, one Dinosaur named Yoshi hated Dragons. Yoshi hated them so much that he wanted to do away with them. Yoshi although strong wasn’t strong enough to conquer the dragons he wanted to power up with the dragons fire power. So he went to Mario the fire sensei. Mario taught the art of fireballs to Yoshi. One day a dragon blew down Yoshi’s house, and then Yoshi went berserk. Yoshi used too much of his power when he tried to take out the dragons. The radio activity killed all the Dragons in the world. Yoshi had completed his task. The end. Group 3
